Homeowners who can’t get to their policies can call their insurance companies toll-free to file a claim using a list compiled by the Insurance Information Institute.

The numbers from major insurers that write policies in Louisiana are:

The institute encourages people to file claims as soon as possible and noted that it may take some time to get through to some numbers because of the volume from the storm.
