Universities and colleges

LSU

LSU Baton Rouge reopens Friday for normal operations, with classes resuming and all administrative offices open.

LSU Eunice reopens for classes Friday.

LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans remains closed until Tuesday.

LSU Alexandria reopens for classes Friday.

LSU Shreveport remains closed until Tuesday.

University of Louisiana at Lafayette

Students and faculty report to classes Friday.

Events starting Friday are still on schedule as planned, unless otherwise specified.

Students will be required to make up classes that have been missed as a result of the university closing due to the storm conditions. A make-up schedule will be announced by the end of next week.

Southeastern Louisiana University

Southeastern Louisiana University’s main campus and satellite locations in Baton Rouge, St. Tammany and Livingston parishes will remain closed for classes and all activities through Friday. Essential staff only are requested to report to work Friday morning. The university anticipates returning to its normal schedule on Tuesday, following Labor Day.

South Louisiana Community College

South Louisiana Community College campuses resume regular business hours and classes Friday. SLCC campuses are located in Lafayette, Crowley, Ville Platte, Abbeville, New Iberia, St. Martinville, Franklin and Opelousas.

Baton Rouge Community College

All classes and campus activities have been canceled for the remainder of the week, including Saturday classes. Classes resume at 7 a.m. Tuesday, after Labor Day. All essential staff are expected to check in with their supervisors Friday.

Southern University

Classes resume Tuesday, after Labor Day. The university does not hold classes on Friday, but all staff and other university personnel are required to be at work Friday.

Nicholls State University

Closed Friday. Classes resume Tuesday.

Our Lady of the Lake College, Baton Rouge

The campus is closed through Friday. Faculty, staff and administration are requested to return to campus Friday morning. Classes are expected to resume Tuesday, following Labor Day.

River Parishes Community College

Campus is closed Friday. Check http://www.rpcc.edu for updates.

Acadia Parish

n All public and private schools will reopen Friday.

Ascension Parish

• All public schools are closed Friday. Classes resume Tuesday, after Labor Day.
• Catholic schools that are part of the Diocese of Baton Rouge are closed Friday. Classes resume Tuesday.

Assumption Parish

• Public schools are closed Friday. Classes will resume Tuesday, after Labor Day.
• Catholic schools that are part of the Diocese of Baton Rouge are closed Friday. Classes resume Tuesday.

City of Baker

• All schools are closed Friday.

East Baton Rouge Parish

• East Baton Rouge Parish school system schools will remain closed Friday. At this time, 36 schools are still without electrical power. Classes are scheduled to resume Tuesday, after Labor Day.
• Catholic schools that are part of the Diocese of Baton Rouge are closed Friday.
• Recovery School District schools Dalton Elementary, Lanier Elementary, Glen Oaks Middle, Prescott Middle, Crestworth Learning Academy, Capitol High and Istrouma High remain closed Friday, and will reopen Tuesday, after Labor Day.
• The Central Community School system is closed Friday.
• Career Academy is closed Friday.
• Christian Life Academy is closed Friday.
• Episcopal High School is closed Friday. Classes resume Tuesday, after Labor Day.
• Hosanna Christian Academy is closed Friday.
• Kenilworth Science and Technology Charter School is closed Friday.
• Mentorship Academy is closed Friday. Classes resume Tuesday, after Labor Day.
• Parkview Baptist School is closed Friday, due to power outages. Classes resume Tuesday, after Labor Day. The PBS-Mandeville football game, scheduled Friday night, has been canceled.
• Runnels School is closed Friday.
• Southern University Lab School is closed Friday.
• THRIVE Academy is closed Friday.

East Feliciana Parish

• East Feliciana Parish school system is closed Friday. Classes resume Tuesday, after Labor Day.
• Silliman Institute reopens Friday.
• Slaughter Community Charter School remains closed Friday.

Evangeline Parish

• All public and private schools reopen Friday.

Iberville Parish

• Iberville Parish school system canceled classes Friday. Administrators and school personnel are asked to report to school Friday.
• Catholic schools that are part of the Diocese of Baton Rouge are closed Friday.
• The Head Start program is closed Friday.

Lafayette Parish

• Lafayette Parish public schools are open Friday.
• All Catholic schools in the Diocese of Lafayette are open Friday.

Livingston Parish

n Livingston Parish public schools are closed Friday; however, all 12-month employees are to report to work Friday. Classes resume Tuesday, after Labor Day. The Denham Springs High School football game against Broadmoor scheduled for Friday is postponed to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Denham Springs High School Jacket Stadium.

Pointe Coupee Parish

n All public schools in the parish are closed Friday.

• Recovery School District school Pointe Coupee Central High remains closed all week and reopens Tuesday, after Labor Day.

St. Helena Parish

• St. Helena Central Elementary and High schools are closed Friday and reopen Tuesday, pending the end of the parish boil water advisory.
• Recovery School District school St. Helena Central Middle remains closed Friday and reopens Tuesday, pending the end of the parish boil water advisory.

St. James Parish

• All public schools in the parish are closed Friday. Classes will resume Tuesday.
• Catholic schools that are part of the Diocese of Baton Rouge are closed Friday.

St. Landry Parish

• All public schools reopen Friday.

St. Martin Parish

• St. Martin Parish public schools reopen Friday.

St. Mary Parish

• Only public schools without power in St. Mary Parish schools will remain closed Friday. Other public schools will reopen.

Tangipahoa Parish

• Tangipahoa Parish public schools are closed Friday. Classes resume Tuesday, after Labor Day.
• All Catholic schools, Oak Forest Academy and Trafton Academy are closed Friday. Classes will resume Tuesday, after Labor Day.

Vermilion Parish

• All public schools in the parish are open Friday.

West Baton Rouge Parish

• All public schools in the parish are closed Friday.
• Catholic schools that are part of the Diocese of Baton Rouge are closed Friday.

West Feliciana Parish

• All schools are open Friday.

Zachary Community School District

• St. Stanislaus in Bay St. Louis, Miss., is closed Friday. Classes resume Tuesday, after Labor Day.
