Bar raided, 15 illegal immigrants among arrested

State and local authorities raided a Greenwell Springs Road club Saturday night and arrested 18 people, 15 of whom were illegal immigrants, a Baton Rouge police spokesman said.

Baton Rouge Police, in conjunction with the Baton Rouge Fire Department, Office of the State Fire Marshal, Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control, FBI and Homeland Security Investigations investigated the Latin Club at 8144 Greenwell Springs Road, Cpl. Tommy Stubbs said in a news release.

Baton Rouge police arrested two people and booked them into Parish Prison, Stubbs said.

Victor Gardona Badoles, 29, was booked on one count of resisting an officer, and Leonidas Umana, 35, was booked on counts of public intoxication and resisting an officer, Stubbs said.

Police also issued Dariela Cantillano, 17, a misdemeanor summons for underage entry in an alcohol establishment, Stubbs said.

Homeland Security investigators arrested 15 illegal immigrants who will be deported because of previous criminal histories, Stubbs said.

The state ATC cited the bar for eight violations including allowing an underage person in the bar, Stubbs said.

The Baton Rouge Fire Department and Office of the State Fire Marshal also cited the bar for various fire code violations, Stubbs said.

Great job. Glad none of the good guys got hurt. The 15 illegals weren't here seeking a better life. They were here to commit crimes and then skip back across the border. There is no way to count how many burglaries, home invasions, hit-n-runs, drug deals were prevented from the round up. Thanks again to our law enforcers.

host and dawson should be elected and sent to congress. i concur with them whole heartedly, i like arresting and punishing those who hire illegals, if we really want to stop illegal drugs, we need to arrest AND TRULY PUNISH the users. no customers, no money, no drugs. if that doesn't stop illegal drug use, at least we can swell our governments' fiscal coffers with confiscated money, cars, jewelry, whatever. that'll keep taxes low and services high.

Arrest business owners and Boards of Directors? Slow down, first lets arrest the politicians that refuse to seal the border. I don't blame anyone for making a move to better their life, I would do the same thing. But, this is not an employer, employee problem. This is an inept, politically correct, I want your vote problem. If the Federal Government would do its very simple job of securing our borders none of this would happen. They push the buck on everyone else and blame States and individuals for their lack of border enforcement.

I hope they send these illegals back across the border where they belong!. Sick and tired of these Canadians coming into our country like they own it. They need to learn English too. Quit speaking this French from Quebec.

And when they register their children in school, we can don't know if they are legal or not and cannot ask. I wonder if moved to a foreign country how many free services I would get.

That isn't even one truck load worth of illegals. I used to wonder why ICE said they couldn't find the illegals when I lived in Houston in the 90's. I told several agents that if they would just go to Home Depot etc in a truck the illegals will jump in the back all on their own. Then just drive them down to the station. I guess that would be to easy. I don't blame the illegals for wanting a better life but they need to create it where they are now and not expect it here especially if they just want to bring what they had here with them for some reason I can't understand. Yeah my native country was so bad I moved here to make it the same way? Makes no sense. When we start arresting business owners and Boards of Directors for hiring them the problem will go away. I think it is the only way to end it all. Lets see some business owners in cuffs doing the perp walk on the news for a change. I guarantee if you said 1 year in jail for any and every illegal you have working for you ZERO TOLERANCE you wouldn't see anyone employing them. Offer a little reward money to make sure people are straight up or risk having someone rat them out. If we can do zero tolerance on drugs etc I am sure we can do it for people illegally here creating havoc on our society and economy. None of them is supposed to be able to vote so why is any party worried about pandering to them in the first place?
