“Lâche Pas,” a fundraiser for the Council for the Development of French in Louisiana, will be held from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday at Cochon Restaurant, 921 Camellia Blvd.

The event will feature Corey Ledet & His Zydeco Band, Feufollet, Zachary Richard, Roddie Romero & the Hub City All Stars, Geno Delafose, LA 31, Cochon Restaurant, The Black Pot All Stars, Saint Street Inn and French Press.

Proceeds will help offset Gov. Bobby Jindal’s line-item veto of $100,000 from CODOFIL’s budget.

Tickets are $20, $10 for students and free for children under 12.

Irish folk singer performs

Danny O’Flaherty will perform American and Irish folk music during a concert at 7 p.m. Thursday at Cité des Arts, 109 Vine St.

Born and reared in the Connemara region of Ireland, O’Flaherty immigrated to the United States about 40 years ago.

The concert will feature folk songs, ballads and traditional Irish songs.

Tickets are $15 and available at the door. Doors open at 6 p.m. and drinks will be available for purchase. For more information, visit: http://citedesarts.org.

Football jamboree set

The Kiwanis Club Football Jamboree begins at 6 p.m. Thursday and continues with more games at 6 p.m. Friday at Cajun Field.

Thursday’s line-up includes: Acadiana High versus Teurlings Catholic High, Carencro High versus Breaux Bridge High, and Lafayette High versus St. Thomas More Catholic High. Friday’s line-up is: Northside High versus Notre Dame Catholic High, Comeaux High versus Cecilia High, and St. Martinville High versus Jennings High.

Tickets are $10 per person each day. Proceeds benefit Lafayette Kiwanis service projects for children.

Digital media workshops

Acadiana Open Channel Community Media’s fall workshop series begins Sept. 4 with its “AOC 101” orientation workshop.

The workshop is free and is held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Other workshops featured this fall include: cinematography, studio production, field production, dynamic directing, introduction to Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Pro II, and “Nonprofit Nourishment,” a workshop for nonprofit groups to create free advertisements to air on AOC programming.

A fee is associated with all workshops except for “AOC 101” and discounts are available for AOC members.

Blues artist at NuNu’s

Blues musician Gitlo performs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at NuNu’s Arts and Cultural Collective in Arnaudville.

The performance is part of the cultural center’s “Artists As One Voice Last Sunday Showcase” series.

There is a suggested donation of $5 for the performance.

NuNu’s is located at 1510 Bayou Courtableau Highway, Arnaudville.
