The fair will include free activities for children and a visit from Mike the Tiger, who will arrive in his tiger trailer at 4 p.m. The raffle drawing will be at 5 p.m. CASA is a nonprofit organization that recruits volunteers to help abused and neglected children find safe and permanent homes.   • A CELEBRATION OF 200 YEARS OF STATEHOOD: 5 p.m., Shaw Center for the Arts, 100 Lafayette St. The LSU Museum of Art and Louisiana Public Broadcasting will present an art exhibition and a documentary to celebrate Louisiana’s bicentennial. The exhibition, “Uniquely Louisiana,” focuses on Louisiana’s unique plants and animals. The documentary, “Louisiana: 200 Years of Statehood,” comes from LPB and is narrated by Harry Connick, Jr., Grammy and Emmy-winning musician and actor. The celebration will start with a wine and cheese reception and tour of the exhibition on the fifth floor followed by a screening of the documentary on the first floor.   • PLANT SALE AND EXPO: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Botanic Garden, 7950 Independence Blvd. The Baton Rouge Botanic Garden Foundation Board, Friends of the Botanic Garden and BREC will sponsor the annual plant sale and expo. Volunteers and vendors will offer culinary herbs, garden vegetables, roses, Louisiana irises and other plants. All of the plants are grown locally to ensure they will do well in Baton Rouge’s climate. Participants can also listen to discussions on the basics of selecting, growing and maintaining plants and listen to talks on roses, gingers, daylilies and Louisiana irises.   • SWEET ADELINES SHOW AND ICE CREAM SOCIAL: 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., Trinity Lutheran Church, 10925 Florida Blvd. A portion of the proceeds from Baton Rouge Chorus of Sweet Adelines Show and Ice Cream Social will benefit the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. The benefit will include performances by the Baton Rouge Chorus of Sweet Adelines at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., an ice cream social after the shows with Kleinpeter Dairy as the ice cream provider and a silent auction. Diane Deaton from WAFB will serve as emcee. The Bayou Brass Quintet will provide entertainment during intermission. Those who donate a nonperishable food item to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank will get to enter a drawing for a door prize. Tickets are $15 each.   • STOP THE VIOLENCE, SAVE THE CHILDREN FIRST ANNUAL CITY SOCIAL: 7 p.m., The Deluxe Inn Convention Center, 10245 Airline Highway. The Children’s Charity Foundation DBA The P.R.A.C.T.I.C.E. (Prison Reform And Corrections Training Institute Changing Ex-Offenders) will hold its first city social to raise funds for youth leadership, education and training to prevent criminal behavior, drug abuse and substance abuse. The P.R.A.C.T.I.C.E. is an educational, training and peer-mentoring institute for youth and adults who are suffering from criminal behavior, substance abuse, truancy and other high-risk behaviors. The social will include dinner, social engagement and educational enlightenment. Tickets are $10 per person or $100 per table. Donations are tax deductible.
