Murder a la Carte players set for event

The Historic Carter House Society Inc. is gearing up for an audience-interactive improvisational theater during the murder mystery by Murder a la Carte players. The event, which includes dinner, will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Carter Plantation Magnolia Ballroom, 23475 Carter Trace, Springfield.

Murder a la Carte Inc. of New Orleans is the murder mystery theater troupe of professional actors performing the play since 1999, organizers said. The Murder Mystery play title is “Gone with the Hurricane.”

Proceeds will benefit the Historic Carter House Society Inc.

Soccer registration

Senior health day

Senior citizens will receive free health screening and more during Ochsner’s Golden Opportunity Program, free Senior Health Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Spectrum Fitness, 145 Aspen Square, Denham Springs.
