Newsweek and the Daily Beast have named Louisiana Tech University as one of the country’s Top 25 most affordable colleges for in-state and out-of-state students.
Louisiana Tech was ranked 13th in affordability for in-state students and 25th for out-of-state students in the “2012 Colleges Rankings” report released this week.
The University of New Orleans was the only other Louisiana school to make the most affordable list with a ranking of 17. Schools were chosen when measured on the potential earnings with a degree from each institution and the average graduate debt.
Newsweek and the Daily Beast listed Louisiana Tech as having:
- A total on-campus price of $23,515.
- The percentage of graduates with debt as 49 percent.
- A graduate starting median salary of $43,300.
- A graduate mid-career median salary of $85,100.
“Given the enormous challenges we have faced over the past several years in keeping tuition and student costs affordable and competitive, we are very proud of the recognition offered by these rankings,” Tech President Dan Reneau said in a statement.
