Student registration centralized at site
LAFAYETTE — Centralized registration of Lafayette Parish public school students continues from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at the former LeRosen Elementary campus, 516 E. Pinhook Road, according to the district’s website.
School officials encourage parents or guardians to register students before the start of classes on Friday. Registration is only required for new students or those who are transferring out of their school zone.
Registration is not required for students moving to a new school due to grade progression, such as advancing from elementary to middle school or middle school to high school.
So far, more than 700 students have been registered through the centralized option, which offers one-stop services for parents registering more than one student or parents who also may need to register for special student services.
Administrators and Central Office staff will be on hand to assist parents and answer questions about services, including food and nutrition, special education, homeless education services, student health and transportation.
Registration forms are available for download at http://ww.lpssonline.com. A new online form to apply for free-lunch or reduced-price lunch benefits is available online at the district website.
Parents also may visit the website for information about documentation needed for registration. Questions may be directed to their local school or to the district health and wellness office at (337) 521-7090.
