Kentwood man booked in stabbing

KENTWOOD — A Kentwood man was booked with aggravated battery after he allegedly stabbed his brother several times with a pocket knife, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reported Monday.

Richard Peter Ballard Jr., 51, of McClendon Road, was arrested Friday at a Simms Road residence where he and his brother, 48-year-old Kenneth Ballard, were arguing over family matters, Sheriff Daniel Edwards said in a news release Monday.

The argument turned physical, resulting in Kenneth Ballard being hospitalized.
