LACOMBE — One teenager died and another was seriously injured in a Wednesday night wreck on U.S. 190, State Police reported Thursday.
Thomas Populas, 15, of Lacombe, was pronounced dead at the scene and Brian Williams, 19, was taken to a New Orleans hospital, according to a State Police news release.
Populas and Williams were not using their seat belts, and Williams was ejected from the vehicle, troopers said.
Williams was driving west on U.S. 190 in a 2008 Ford Mustang when he attempted to pass a vehicle, lost control and struck several trees, troopers said.
