Person found in burning car near downtown

Baton Rouge Police and Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to a traffic crash Thursday at about 5:45 a.m. and found a vehicle fully engulfed in flames in the 800 block of Convention Street, according to a press release from the police. When fire fighters put the fire out, they found the body of an unknown person in the car.
The investigation was turned over to the Baton Rouge City Police Traffic Homicide Division.
