A 22-year-old St. Gabriel man was indicted Wednesday in an Oct. 13 hit-and-run accident on East Boyd Drive that injured two pedestrians in the Tigerland area of LSU.
An East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury charged Mark Almon, 1120 Etta Drive, with felony hit and run.
Almon did not stop after hitting the 19-year-old woman and 21-year-old man, but he
surrendered to authorities about 12 hours later, police have said.
The indictment says Almon “intentionally failed to stop” his Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck at the scene of the accident to give his identity and to render reasonable aid when he “knew or should have known that death or serious bodily injury had occurred as a direct result of the accident.”
Almon faces up to 10 years in prison.
The case has been assigned to state District Judge Chip Moore.
