St. Landry man book ed in pedestrian’s death

OPELOUSAS — St. Landry Parish sheriff’s deputies say they have arrested a man for allegedly hitting and killing a pedestrian while under the influence of drugs.
Deputies arrested Michael Jordan Stelly on Monday in the death of Sherwin James Boone. Boone died in the early morning hours of June 8 after being hit by a car in Arnaudville.
Stelly was booked with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance and vehicular homicide.
It could not be determined whether Stelly has an attorney.
