Traffic to be detoured at campus intersection

Crosswalks at the intersection will also be closed and local traffic will be detoured to Johnston Street. St. Mary Boulevard will only be open to local traffic, while other through traffic will be detoured around the main campus.

Detour signs are posted and some left turns will be prohibited during the project.

β€œFor local traffic only, left turns will be allowed from St. Mary Boulevard onto Hebrard Boulevard temporarily. Also, left turns from University Avenue to Hebrard Boulevard will be allowed temporarily,” said Joey Pons, university director of Environmental Health and Safety.

University bus service will not be interrupted. Olivier Parking Tower on McKinley Street will remain open during the construction work, but motorists are encouraged to access the tower from University Avenue and avoid the construction site.

The intersection is expected to reopen by Aug. 15.
