One-stop school registration for new Lafayette Parish school students continues from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the LeRosen Elementary campus, 516 E. Pinhook Road.
Another session will be held from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 8. Lafayette Parish students begin class on Aug. 10.

Sponsors sought
Sponsors and donations are needed for the Michael Lewis Striding for Your Dreams Foundation first annual “Shooting for Your Dreams Sporting Clay Classic” planned for Sept. 1 at the Wilderness Gun Club in Lafayette.
The event will feature food and live music.
The deadline for sponsorships and to register for the event is Aug. 24.
Lewis is a former New Orleans Saints wide receiver and is the team’s current “team ambassador.”

Football jamboree set
The 61st annual Kiwanis Club Football Jamboree will be held at 6 p.m. Aug. 23 and Aug. 24 at Cajun Field.
Thursday’s lineup includes: Acadiana High versus Teurlings Catholic, Carencro High versus Breaux Bridge High and Lafayette High versus St. Thomas More.
On Friday, the lineup is: Northside High versus Notre Dame, Comeaux High versus Cecilia High and St. Martinville High versus Jennings High.
Tickets are $10 and the event is a fundraiser for the Lafayette Kiwanis Service Projects for children in the Acadiana area.
The Kiwanis Club of Lafayette will also host its annual “Crying Towel” luncheon at noon Aug. 21 at the Petroleum Club where local coaches see who can tell the funniest and saddest story to win the coveted towel.
Los Gringos perform
The musical group Los Gringos Calentano performs at 7 p.m. Thursday at Chapelle Country Store at Le Village, 121 Seale Lane, Eunice.
Musicians Tina Pilione and Paul Anastasio will perform their blend of Spanish, African, Cuban and South and North American styles of music.
Seating is limited and doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 or two tickets for $25. Ticket price includes snacks and a beverage. Call (337) 457-3573.
Art classes offered
A 14-week class for aspiring artists 55 or older starts Aug. 28 at the St. Peter Library in New Iberia through a partnership with the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and the Iberia Parish Library.
The class will be instructed by local artist Kate Ferry.
Registration begins Wednesday at the Main Library. Classes will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The cost for the class is $80 and payment is required at registration.
