Man stable after Duane St. shooting

Police are investigating a shooting that occurred at 1 p.m. Monday in the 1400 block of Duane Street.

A 22-year-old man was shot in the abdomen, police spokesman Cpl. Tommy Stubbs said. The victim was taken to a hospital and was in stable condition as of 5:30 p.m. Monday, Stubbs said.

Police do not have any suspects or motives in the shooting, Stubbs said.

2 booked with DWI in EBR Parish Prison

Authorities arrested at least two people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Sunday and 2:30 p.m. Monday, booking records show.

Those booked and the counts against them:

  • Breann Kinsley, 20, 18321 Magnolia Bend Road, Greenwell Springs, first-offense DWI, reckless operation of a vehicle, failure to signal and improper lane usage.
  • Gerald Young, 55, 16947 Hamilton Ave., third-offense DWI, improper lane usage and possession of alcohol in a vehicle.
