MORGAN CITY — The Justice Department has approved Morgan City’s plan to reconfigure its City Council districts.
The decision came after months of meetings.
The city was notified in a letter from the Justice Department.
Changes in the racial makeup of Morgan City shown in the 2010 census forced expansion of the only council district in which minorities were predominant.
