Public forum set on progress of road work

City-parish officials will host a public forum Monday on ongoing road projects in southeast Baton Rouge, according to a news release.

The meeting will be held in the St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church Fellowship Hall at 16166 South Harrell’s Ferry Road, the release says.

Ongoing Green Light Plan projects on O’Neal Lane, South Harrell’s Ferry Road and Millerville Road will be discussed, as will the status of Woodlake Bridge, which was ordered closed by the state Department of Transportation in May after it was deemed too dangerous for traffic.

The meeting will focus on the upcoming work on South Harrell’s Ferry, Department of Public Works Director William Daniel said.

Officials from DPW and the engineering firms doing the work will be on hand to answer questions.

Did DPW and the others who plan these meetings get tired of people asking about that $1.5 billion sewer project and where the money is going? Maybe this will be another "the bridges are falling" discussion to prepare the public for another giant infrastructure tax vote?
