During 2012, The Advocate is examining violence in our community, its underlying causes and ways to address it.
Sheriff Sid Gautreaux believes the nature of the job sometimes plagues his deputies. That’s why he started community policing efforts in Gardere and other areas of the parish. However, he acknowledges it takes a long time to turn things around.
