Malco to start Gonzales bowling project

Malco Family Entertainment, a Tennessee-based theater operator with bowling centers in Baton Rouge and Lafayette, is holding a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday at the Bayou Plaza retail center in Gonzales for its newest project slated to open in the fall.
An announcement for the event said the Family Entertainment Complex will include a new bowling center.
Malco has been in the bowling business in Baton Rouge and Lafayette since the late 1950s and operates Circle Bowl and Metro Bowl in Baton Rouge and Acadiana Lanes and Lafayette Lanes in Lafayette, a search of the Internet shows.
Malco Theatres Inc. is a fourth-generation movie theater chain with 29 locations in Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee, its website shows.
