LAFAYETTE — Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Rob Guidry on Tuesday announced his plans to retire by the end of 2013, according to a chamber news release.
Guidry has worked for the chamber for 35 years. He is the organization’s longest-serving president, having served since 1988, according to information from spokeswoman Carley Ste. Marie.
Guidry told the board of directors his plans now so the organization has time to search for a successor, the release stated.
Guidry will remain in his role until a successor is found and will help ensure a “seamless transition,” Board Chairman Jerry Greig said in the release.
“There are extraordinary opportunities out there. I plan to remain fully engaged in the business and social aspects of the community,” Guidry said.
