Wounded man dies at hospital

Police had little information on a man who was dropped off at a hospital Saturday with a gunshot wound and died Sunday, a police spokesman said.

Jeremy Coleman, 23, 23620 Oak St., Plaquemine, died from a bullet wound to his mid-section, police spokesman Cpl. L’Jean McKneely said Sunday in a news release.

Coleman was dropped off at LSU Earl K. Long Medical Center by friends at 9:10 p.m. Saturday. He died from his injuries at 12:50 a.m. Sunday, McKneely said.

Police do not know where the shooting occurred or the motive, the release says.

Anyone with information can contact the Baton Rouge Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit at 389-4869 or Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
