The Louisiana International Film Festival will host a complimentary red carpet screening of “Beasts of the Southern Wild” at 7 p.m. Thursday at Cinemark Perkins Rowe Theater, 10000 Perkins Rowe.
Filmed in Terrebonne Parish, “Beasts of the Southern Wild” won the Sundance Film Festival’s grand jury prize and the Cannes Film Festival’s Palm d’Or.
The screening is free but attendees must RSVP (plus one if bringing a guest) to beastsrsvp@gmail.com to confirm seating.
Told through the eyes of a 6-year-old girl, “Beasts of the Southern Wild” is an often fantastical story about a coastal Louisiana community struggling to maintain its way of life.
The film begins its regular Baton Rouge run Friday.
