Police juror: DeSoto districts need funds

MANSFILED — The DeSoto Parish Police Jury is being urged to provide funding for water districts that serve small rural areas in south DeSoto.

Police Juror Ricky McPhearson said many of the small districts felt neglected when the Police Jury earlier this year allocated $25,000 to each municipality in DeSoto.

He said equipment is again in most of the districts.

McPhearson said if funding is not available this year, then the Police Jury should consider providing dollars next year.
