Ascension Parish sets recycling day

Ascension Parish residents are invited to drop off recyclable items from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Recycling Road Show in the Prairieville Walmart store’s parking lot, parish officials said.
A recycling vehicle will be stationed to accept newspapers, magazines, catalogs, phone books, paperback books, mail, colored paper, envelopes, milk and juice cartons, cardboard, aluminum, tin or bimetal cans and metal lids and No. 1 and No. 7 plastic containers.
Wax-coated frozen food packaging or take-out food containers, aerosol cans, wire hangers, plastic bags, hangers, plastic caps or lids, six-pack rings or chemical containers will not be accepted.
