GOVERNMENT MEETING

  • PUBLIC GREEN LIGHT PLAN AND SSO PROGRAM FORUM: 6 p.m., Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, 4000 Gus Young Ave. Councilwoman C. Denise Marcelle from District 7 and Mayor Kip Holden will host a forum to discuss plans to improve roadway infrastructure and resident safety throughout the parish.   • GAME DAY LUNCH AND A MOVIE: 10:30 a.m., Greenwell Springs Regional Branch Library, 11300 Greenwell Springs Road. Children who are 5 years old or older are invited to play checkers, puzzles, UNO, jump rope, hopscotch, Bingo and other games. After games, the library will show a movie.   • REFLECTIONS IN THE GARDEN LECTURE: Noon to 1 p.m., Burden Center Conference Room, 4560 Essen Lane. Dr. Jeff Kuehny will present “Botanical Treasures to Tap Into.” Participants should bring their lunches, but the center will provide the drinks. The cost is free for members and $10 for others.   • BATON ROUGE PRESS CLUB: Noon, De La Ronde Hall, 320 Third St. Vic Stelly, a former state lawmaker, will discuss the impact of the repeal of the economic plan bearing his name and reflect on his recent resignation from the Board of Regents. Lunch, which is served at 11:30 a.m., is $12 for members and $15 for nonmembers.
