Boy drowns in Denham Springs pool

A 4-year-old boy drowned in the pool of a Denham Springs apartment complex this weekend, the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office reported Tuesday.
Deputies were called just after midnight Saturday to The Crossing Apartments, 10888 Buddy Ellis Road, where Nathan Landry and his family were visiting friends, Chief Deputy Jason Ard said in a news release.
Landry and others ended up inside the pool and around the pool area, Ard said.
The boy went under water to catch a ball but never resurfaced. Landry’s family pulled him out of the water and performed CPR, Ard said, but the boy later died.
No criminal activity is suspected, Ard said. At this point, the death appears to be a tragic accident, he said.
