Two men arrested in Tangipahoa holdup

AMITE — Deputies arrested two men Sunday in a case in which a resident reported that a man entered her home with a shotgun and demanded money, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reported Monday.

The man took her purse and fled, the woman told authorities.

A deputy responding to the call stopped a speeding vehicle and arrested the driver and passenger, according to a Sheriff’s Office press release.

The deputy reported seeing something thrown from the vehicle and said he located the purse near where he stopped the car.

Deputies booked Jamie T. James, 24, and Brad W. Basso, 35, both of Independence, on aggravated burglary. James was also booked on resisting arrest, according to the release.
