Man gets 40 years in shooting death

NEW ORLEANS — An Orleans Parish judge has sentenced Joseph Peters, 26, to 40 years in prison in the 2010 shooting death of a man in a wheel chair. The sentence was given in the case of Sedale Dorsey, 23, who was shot in a drive-by shooting on Oct. 25, 2010.
A jury convicted Peters of manslaughter last week. Two others await trial in the killing.
