Four booked in Livingston drug raid netting guns, cash

Deputies raided a private residence in Denham Springs, arresting four people and seizing more than 30 pounds of “high-quality” marijuana, guns and cash, the Livingston Sheriff’s Office reported Friday.

All four arrested Wednesday night at 9951 Spur Road remained in custody Friday in the Livingston Parish Detention Center, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.

Approximately 100 marijuana plants, 1,878 grams of hashish and 11,900 grams of marijuana, with a total street value estimated at $394,000 were confiscated, deputies reported.

Deputies also seized two handguns and $8,450 cash, according to the release.

A 15-year-old child living in the residence was placed in the care of a relative, authorities said.

Jeanette Marine White, 37, and Michael R. Jones Jr., 43, were booked on counts of illegal carrying of a weapon while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, illegal use of a controlled drug in the presence of a person under 17 years old, and two counts of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, according to the release.

White and Jones were being held Friday in lieu of $150,000 bail each.

Corey B. Vaughn, 35, was booked on counts of illegal use of a controlled drug in the presence of a person under 17 years old, resisting an officer and two counts of possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Deputies said he fled from the rear of the home but was quickly intercepted by a police dog and arrested.

Vaughn was being held in lieu of $151,000 bail. Also, probation and parole authorities placed a hold on him, deputies said.

Anna S. Vaughn, 33, was booked with illegal use of a controlled drug in the presence of a person under 17 years old, possession of Adderall, possession of oxycodone, and two counts of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, according to the press release.

Deputies said she was being held in the Livingston Parish Detention Center in lieu of $170,500 bail.

All four adults listed the 9951 Spur Road address as their residence.

Do people really believe that even if pot is legalized that you would still have a job after testing positive? Even legal "impairment" on the job will be grounds for dismissal in most industrial related workplaces.

LSUinVail, a quick google shows the man arrested beat his wife so badly he knocked her teeth out and is on parole for it. There goes your peaceful weed domestic violence argument out the window.

@YB on steroids, put your alcohol down and at least sound like you know what you're talkin about. Where I live we are the road to legalizing this harmless, non-addictive plant. Just think, when it does become legal the tax revenue will be in the billions, we'll save millions more in not having to pursue anyone over a joint, minors' exposure to this type of activity (see article) will be virtually non existant, marijuana stores do not deal harmful illegal drugs, and if we're lucky some alcoholic addicts may choose to switch to marijuana, thereby saving tens of thousands of lives on the roadways, I would even reach and suggest that domestic violence and other types of violence would be greatly diminished as well. May I suggest rudimentary research on the subject, you may come across as smart and informed, if you're into that kinda thing.

Can't wait for the brain impaired "legalize drugs because we can't win the war" crowd. Maybe we should just outlaw stupidity and put them in jail too.

So does "high grade marijuana" get more severe punishment than low grade ditch weed? Who determined how high a grade the marijuana was exactly? Did someone smoke some and say YEP dats da good stuff! You can't just look at marijuana and tell anything about it besides it being marijuana of some sort. High grade lol the way these people spin their propaganda over a plant is really beyond reproach when it comes to down right misinformation and deception.
