Walker officials lift boil water advisory

— A drinking water boil advisory affecting parts of Walker has been lifted, city officials announced on Thursday.

The advisory was withdrawn after test results showed that the municipality’s drinking water was free of bacteria, according to a city news release.

The city issued the advisory Wednesday after water pressure was lowered when a contractor accidentally cut a water main, officials said.

Do we understand that boiling does not kill all bacteria? Some bacteria produce spores that are somewhat like seed and can survive in a dormant state while being boiled in water. "Bad water" is one of the leading causes of death in primitive cultures.
