Jindal goes to Va., Ill. political events

Gov. Bobby Jindal hit the road Thursday to attend political events in Virginia and Illinois.

The governor’s press office said Jindal’s first stop will be in Virginia to attend an event for Gov. Bob McDonnell’s Opportunity Virginia PAC.

From Virginia, Jindal is scheduled to travel to Chicago to address the Conservative Political Action Conference and to attend a fundraiser for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign.

Jindal’s press office said the governor will return to Baton Rouge on Friday.

He spends more time out of state politicking than he spends in state actually working. We are probably better off when he is gone!

How much of the expense of this trip is to be paid by the Louisiana taxpayer? This one (including full cost of his security detail from LSP) should certainly be paid for entirely by his campaign war chest or that of the Republican party. Some enterprising young go getter journalist should find out and keep us informed. His office will never reveal this on its own. We will be seeing more of this in the time leading up to Romney's announcement of his running mate which may not come until the convention.
