Hammond man charged in gambling case

HAMMOND — Federal prosecutors charged a Hammond man Wednesday in connection with a gambling investigation.

Frank G. Donewar, 56, was accused in a bill of information of transmission of wagering information and money laundering, U.S. Attorney Jim Letten announced. If convicted on both charges, Donewar could face up to 22 years in prison and $750,000 in fines, a news release said.
