Woman booked on molestation counts
BAKER — Police arrested a 43-year-old woman Monday who is accused of molesting a juvenile boy at a Baker group home, Police Chief Mike Knaps said.
Cynthia Haynes, 2116 Davenport Ave., Baton Rouge, was booked into Parish Prison on five counts of molestation of a juvenile, Knaps said.
Haynes was accused of having sexual contact with a juvenile she supervised while working as a staff member in 2011 at Drusilla’s Place boys group home, 15085 Plank Road, Baker, Knaps said.
The state Office of Juvenile Justice reported the incidents to Baker police after agency staff discovered Haynes was allegedly behaving inappropriately with a juvenile resident. Knaps said the investigation revealed that Haynes made sexual contact with the boy at least five times during several months in 2011.
The boy was removed from the group home, and Haynes had been terminated before her arrest, Knaps said.
