Child trafficking cases set for trials Tuesday

The trials of two women who face child trafficking charges stemming from separate State Police investigations begin Tuesday.

Both women were indicted by a Lafayette Parish grand jury in September 2013.

Lorrie A. Anderson, of Lafayette, is accused of trafficking a 14-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl between 2009 and 2011, KATC TV-3 reported.

Anderson also was charged with two counts of aggravated rape involving a boy and a girl.

The indictment says the boy was 9 when the alleged crimes started in 2009, and the girl was 7. The court document stated that the abuse took place from Jan. 1, 2009, through Dec. 31, 2011.

Katherine Sue Vidrine, of Carencro, was indicted on one count of child sex trafficking. She was arrested in June 2013 by State Police, who followed up on a tip that Vidrine was driving a child around the parish for sex appointments with clients.
