Louisiana is one of two dozen states where UnitedHealth’s insurance arm, UnitedHealthcare, may make coverage available through the Affordable Care Act-created marketplace. The others include Texas, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan and Indiana. This year, UnitedHealthcare sold exchange plans in New York, Nevada, Maryland and Colorado. UnitedHealthcare Senior Vice President Jeff Lucht told the Journal that the company will offer a variety of plan designs, such as health maintenance organizations. with an eye toward controlling premiums.
