Marketing, franchise seminars set by SCORE

SCORE will be holding seminars this week on small-business marketing and on operating a franchise business.

--The small-business marketing seminar will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the East Baton Rouge Parish Main Library, 7711 Goodwood Blvd.

It will focus on offers and promotions, such as a simple coupon or a Facebook campaign. Topics include three things to get with a deal; the different types of deals; five steps to a great offer; and understanding the five “don’ts of deals.”

--The franchising seminar will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the University of Phoenix, fourth floor, 2431 S. Acadian Thruway, in Baton Rouge.

The seminar will focus on changing careers and owning a franchised business. The growth trends are in service, simple retail and business-to-business franchises.

Onsite Lube and Go, a mobile oil change service, has opened at 5741 S. Sherwood Forest in Baton Rouge.

Gifted Healthcare new name for Gifted Nurses

Gifted Nurses, a health care company that supplies clinicians and caregivers to hospitals, health care organizations and families, is undergoing a rebranding that includes a new name, website and expanded outreach, CEO and Chairman P.K. Scheerle said.

Founded in 2006 by clinicians, Gifted Nurses is now Gifted Healthcare, a name that describes the company’s current services and future direction. Gifted Healthcare launched a new website, giftedhealthcare.com.

The company, based in Metairie, has regional offices in Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma and nationally through its travel nurse division. Gifted Healthcare companies include Gifted Nurses, Gifted Travel, Robison Medical Resource Group and Nurse Nexus.

Keep La. Beautiful schedules conference

Keep Louisiana Beautiful will hold its state conference Oct. 2-3 in the Claiborne State Office Building, 1201 N. Third St., in Baton Rouge.

The conference includes discussions about projects and tips on keeping Louisiana beautiful. Keynote speaker is Jennifer Jehn, Keep America Beautiful president and CEO.
