“Style File” column for Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012

NAME: Susan Williams

AGE: 64

Tell us about what you're wearing.

"Gold Miracle Body coated jeans, they're supposed to look like leather; a black Dikton sweater with yarn embellishment; and black Naturalizer flats that are very comfortable - perfect for shopping. The purse is a leopard print calf hair. I got it at Russo Ross, which is also where I got the jeans and sweater."

What's the best fashion advice you've ever gotten?

"Wear whatever you're comfortable in."

What's your favorite trend right now?

"I have to say jeans and leggings. I'm a big jeans person; they're so personal. It's like buying a bathing suit or underwear. I'm really a lazy clothes shopper, so when I find a style that works, that's what I buy. I also wear a lot of classics - leather and suede."

Finish this sentence. I splurge on...

"Shoes, definitely shoes."

I skimp on...

"My hair, I do a lot of it myself."

Are you a shoe or handbag kind of woman?

"Shoes, shoes, shoes - there's no doubt in my mind.

How many pairs do you own?

"Not enough."

Name a celebrity whose closet you'd like to raid.

"Julia Roberts or Sharon Stone come to mind. They're both classic and fun."

What's the one beauty product you can't live without?

"Moisturizer and lots of it."

What was your worst fashion mistake?

"Big shoulder pads. I'm a little bitty person and they made me look like a linebacker."

Your house is on fire and you can grab only one thing out of your closet; what would it be?

"My mother's mink coat ... it even still smells like her."
