Tell us about what you’re wearing.
“My very favorite sparkly top by Key Lime & Pink from Dillard’s with textured leggings from TJ Maxx. I received so many compliments the first time I wore the top, I went right out and I got another one!”
What’s the best fashion advice you’ve ever gotten?
“V-necks are a flattering choice for the well-endowed woman.”
What’s your favorite trend right now?
“Wedge shoes, so comfy and cute.”
Finish this sentence. I splurge on...
“Pearls, I love the sheen and the cool feel of cultured and freshwater pearls.”
I skimp on...
“Just about everything. I am a die-hard bargain hunter and sale shopper.”
Are you a shoe or handbag kind of woman?
“Both. In my 20s and 30s definitely shoes, but I abandoned fashionable footwear for comfort. I try to convince myself they are cute but I refuse to tell anyone how many styles and colors of Crocs sandals I own. For the last couple of decades I’ve been conducting a one-woman search for the perfect handbag.”
How many pairs do you own?
“Over 70 pairs of shoes, at least 35 handbags and still looking.”
Name a celebrity whose closet you’d like to raid.
“This is really embarrassing, but honestly it would be Maude. She was not exactly a fashion plate, and sadly Bea Arthur died a few years ago, but now that I am considered a ‘Golden Girl’ myself, I find I love the flowing pants, tunic vests and scarves she wore.”
What’s the one beauty product you can’t live without?
“Concealer. I love Ellen DeGeneres, and really love the smooth feel and look of the Covergirl Simply Ageless concealer, sometimes it’s all you need. Well, and some lip color. Well, and some blush, and well, maybe a touch of mascara. I really need all the beauty products I can get!”
What was your worst fashion mistake?
“A red, white and blue, double-knit, hot pants jumpsuit, with a long split-to-the-waist floral skirt. In my defense, it was the ’70s!”
Your house is on fire and you can grab only one thing out of your closet; what would it be?
“A lime-green linen top I haven’t worn yet. Besides my sparkly top, it would be tempting to let the rest burn and start all over.”
