Crock-Pot Oatmeal With Apples
Serves 4 to 6. Recipe is by Sharon Gordon.
2 sliced apples, unpeeled
1⁄3 cup walnut pieces, optional
¼ cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
¼ tsp. salt
2 cups old-fashioned oats
2 cups milk
2 cups water
¼ cup Craisins or raisins, optional
1. Place sliced apples and walnuts, if using, in bottom of slow cooker. Sprinkle brown sugar over apples, along with cinnamon and salt.
2. Pour oatmeal over apple and sugar mixture. Add milk and water. Do not stir.
3. Cook on Low for 8 hours.
4. Add Craisins or raisins, if desired, for topping.
