Serves 1. Recipe is by mixologist Michael Jones, of Seven Lamps in Atlanta, who won the 2013 Merlet Sidecar Cocktail Competition at Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans in July. As champion, he won a trip to France to visit the Merlet distillery in Cognac.

1 oz. Merlet Creme de Peche

1 oz. Noilly-Prat Dry Vermouth

1 oz. Alsace Riesling

Dash Angostura Orange Bitters

3 to 4 mint leaves

Brut Champagne

Collins glass

Orange wheel and mint sprig

Shake the creme de peche, vermouth, riesling, bitters and mint leaves. Using a collines glass, double strain over fresh ice and top with brut Champagne. Garnish with an orange wheel and mint sprig.
