Valentine’s Chicken Sandwiches
Serves 4. Recipe is by Julie Kay.
1 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
1 onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 tsp. chili powder
½ tsp. garlic powder
½ tsp. black pepper
1 (12-oz.) bottle chili sauce
1. Slice chicken into strips and put all ingredients into slow cooker. Cook on Low for 6 to 8 hours.
2. Using heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut bread into heart shapes.
3. Remove chicken mixture with slotted spoon and put on a heart-shaped slice of bread. Top with another heart-shaped bread slice and serve.
