Buttermilk Pie
Serves 8. Recipe provided by Jenni Burk, from a recipe from the late Lucille White, a teacher in Baker.
4 large eggs
1½ cups sugar
2 tbls. cornstarch
¾ cup buttermilk
1 stick softened butter
1 unbaked (9-inch) pie shell
1. With an electric mixer, beat eggs and then add sugar, cornstarch, buttermilk and softened butter. Beat until combined.
2. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 30-40 minutes. Garnish with fresh Louisiana strawberries, if desired.
