Edward Grant Jr’s Special Chocolate Sauce

Edward Grant Jr.’s Special Chocolate Sauce

Recipe by Edward Grant Jr. provided by Kate Grant Seba.

1 or 2 squares of baking chocolate

Milk

Pinch salt

Pinch sugar or sugar substitute

Vanilla extract

1. Put one or two squares of baking chocolate in a pan. Add a little milk. Experience and how you think you want the sauce will teach you how much milk, but I think I didn’t add too much. I think I would start with 1/2 or 1⁄3 of a cup. You can adjust this later to suit you. If you add too much, a little slow boiling with a lot of stirring will thicken it. You kids always seemed to like it thick.

2. Add a pinch of salt and sugar. You will learn how much by trying. Heat slowly with a bunch of stirring so as not to scorch things before the sugar is melted. You can’t stir too much!! Once it has reached the bubble point, you’re through, except for a bit of vanilla extract to taste and except for geting rid of the weight you put on eating this over cake or ice cream. That’s by far the hardest part! Hey, if you could use Splenda for all or most of the sugar, this could be part of a thinning diet. Imagine that!!
