Advocate-tested recipe

White Chocolate Chip Macadamia Nut Cookies

Makes about 3 dozen cookies. Recipe is from Jay Martin.

1 cup butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed

2 tsps. vanilla

1/2 tsp. salt

2 eggs

21/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp. baking soda

10 ozs. white choclate chips

1 cup macadamia nuts

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

2. In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla and salt with an electric mixer until creamy. Add eggs and beat well.

3. Stir together flour and baking soda, then gradually add to the butter mixture until well blended. Stir in white chocolate chips and macadamia nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto an ungreased cookie sheet.

4. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Cool slightly on the sheet before removing to wire racks to cool completely.
