Starting at $159,900, Willowbrook Townhomes are surprisingly upscale with stainless appliances, hand-scraped wood floors and granite counter tops. Just 10 minutes from the new Woman’s Hospital, the townhomes are being sold “as fast as we can put them up,” according to the listing agent. Workers are putting in long hours in an effort to keep up, said Dolly McKenney, with RE/MAX First. “We’ll have six more units available at the end of March.”
Located at Hoo Shoo Too Road and Old Jefferson Highway, Willowbrook has a total of 30 townhome lots, McKenney said. McKenney said six have been completed and sold and eight more are under construction. Two of those eight are pre-sold, she said. The project developer is Ronnie Doran with Doran Enterprises, and the builder is Lancaster Construction.
Location, quality construction and price are the big selling features of the townhomes, all of which are single story, she said. Standard amenities include granite counter tops in the kitchen and baths, wood floors, ceramic tile, upgraded stainless appliances, computer nooks with built-in desks, enclosed garages and separate parking pads. All the homes are landscaped and have master suites with garden tubs and separate showers. There are no extra amenities at extra prices because none are really needed, McKenney said.
The subdivision has a lake with a fishing pier that is available to all homeowners, and a walking trail, McKenney said. Lots are still available on or off the lake, she said. The lakeview homes are either 2- or 3-bedrooms, and have small back yards. The townhomes not on lake lots all have rear yards with wooden privacy fences, McKenney said.
Willowbrook is home to families, singles and retired couples who are looking for quality construction at a reasonable price, she said. Homes start with the two-bedroom, two-bath model not on the lake, priced at $159,900. A three-bedroom, two-bath home not on the lake is $169,900. On the lake, the two-bedroom homes are $164,900 and the three-bedroom homes are $177,500. The two-bedroom homes have 1,268 square feet of living area and the three-bedroom homes have 1,409 square feet. A homeowner association has been formed, and dues are $300 annually.
The home at 17864 Spring Creek Drive is a model home not on the lake. It has three bedrooms and two baths, as well as an office nook with a built-in desk near bedroom No. 2. Arranged by Staged to Sell, the home begins with ceramic tile in the entrance hallway. The hall passes a bedroom, a full bath and the exit to the garage on the way to the kitchen and living room.
The bedrooms are carpeted, and the living room is floored in hand-scraped wood. The kitchen has a long granite-topped bar and matching granite counter tops. Appliances are stainless, the cabinetry is stained oak, and there is a double stainless sink in the bar. The backsplashes are tumbled stone, and a nice three-light iron fixture hangs above the bar.
A small dining area separates the kitchen from the living room, which is framed by an arched entry way. The living room has a vaulted ceiling and a big window to the covered back porch and fenced back yard. Bedroom No. 2 is near the computer nook and the home’s laundry room.
The master suite is in back, and also has a window to the back yard. Double doors lead into the master bath, which has ceramic tile floors to match the rest of the home. Dual vanities share a long granite counter, and a garden tub is in the corner below a single pane window. The walk-in shower is across from the tub. The master closet has lots of hanging rods and sweater shelves.
And finally, the townhomes in Willowbrook are pre-wired for security systems, McKenney said. Willowbrook will have an open house today from 1-4 p.m., she said.
