Here’s what’s happening in the area arts and cultural scene:

■ The West Baton Rouge Museum, 845 N. Jefferson Ave., Port Allen, will host Bastille Day from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. today. The event will include demonstrations, hands-on activities and live music. For more information, call (225) 336-2442 or visit westbatonrougemuseum.org.

■ The work of professional artists of the St. James Artists’ Guild will be on exhibit through Thursday, July 31, in the St. James Episcopal Church Parish Hall, 205 N 4th St. Admission is free. For more information, call (225) 387-5141

■ The St. Tammany Art Association’s 49th National Juried Artists Exhibition, the “Summer Show,” is on view at the association, 320 N. Columbia St., Covington. Thirty-two artists were selected, including 17 from Louisiana. Admission is free. For more information, call (985) 892-8650.

■ An exhibit of artwork by students in the Talented Art Program at Zachary Community Schools will run through Friday, July 25, at the Louisiana State Archives, 3851 Essen Lane.
