Pam's Party Line for July 13, 2014

Hope you had a wonderful Fourth of July celebration! We were all about the red, white and blue in my neighborhood of Kenilworth as the annual parade wound its way through the streets on the evening of July 3.

Before the floats rolled, Kenilworth Civic Association board members; this year’s Resident of the Year, Bob Mathews; and parade judges James Llorens, Karen Jakuback and Armetta Wright got together for a meet-and-greet at the home of Vicky and Mark Tiller. Tapped as winners in the float competition by those judges were: St. Jude Catholic Church Knights of Columbus, Best Float; Kenilworth Swim Team, Best Group; ☻Billy Nungesser’s “Peanut the Elephant,” Best Individual; Military Order of the Purple Heart, Most Patriotic; Thrivent Financial, Most Original; Boy Scouts Pack 103, Judge’s Choice; and Kenilworth Civic Association, Best Fits Theme.

Saucey fun

A few days before the Fourth, buddy Jay Ducote officially released his much-anticipated barbecue sauce at a VIP party at Beausoleil. There were lots of ways to sample the sauce, thanks to chef Nathan Gresham, including a barbecue fountain … a cool, new twist on the chocolate fountain. Naturally, bottles of this elixir were available for purchase. Jay was even signing them as friends lined up to get them.

Guess what was on my Fourth of July ribs?
