Here’s what’s happening in the area’s art and cultural scene:

Theatre Baton Rouge, 7155 Florida Blvd., has extended its summer musical, “Annie,” an extra week. The show will play Thursdays through Sundays until Sunday, June 29. Also, the theater has set auditions for “The Shape of Things” at 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, June 17 and 18. Callbacks will be Thursday, June 19. Registration is open for a “Champagne and Claude” painting workshop at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at the West Baton Rouge Museum, 845 N. Jefferson Ave., Port Allen. Admission is free, but registration is required by calling (225) 336-2422, ext. 15.

Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre, 10745 Linkwood Court, will offer local summer intensives: Session I will be Monday through Friday, June 16-20; Session II will be Monday through Friday, July 23 to 27. Tuition is $365 per session or $680 for both sessions. A non-refundable $50 registration fee is required and will be applied to the cost of the program. BREC’s Independence Park Theatr), 7800 Independence Blvd., will hold auditions for “The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940,” from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, June 21, at the theater. The show is directed by Jason Breaux. Performances are set for Aug. 14-17. Call (225) 216-0660.
