Advocate staff report Aug. 15, 2014 Comments Baton Rouge native Robert Bennett is the newest employee at Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. Bennett won the Syfy reality competition series “Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge” Tuesday night, besting two other finalists and capturing a prize worth up to $100,000 and a contract working at the Creature Shop in Burbank, Calif., where characters for the TV series “Dinosaurs” and films like “The Flintstones” and “Where The Wild Things Are” have taken shape. Bennett currently works as a sculptor for Walt Disney Imagineering in Orlando, Fla. On the series, he and nine other designers were given a different challenging monster project each episode, along with a two-day deadline. One designer was eliminated each week.
